Robot Star 50 wind mechanism
Between the 1930s to the 1980s the German made Robot series cameras were used for spying. They were ultra small, compact and quiet. In a style known as clockwork cameras this model is the Robot Star 50 was developed in 1969. The small camera could be concealed in a briefcase or a handbag, the lens poking through a decorative hole. The camera could be activated repeatedly by a cable release concealed in the handle. The company was well aware of this market and produced a variety of accessories which made the camera even more suitable for covert image making.
